MARANGU CHAGGA VILLAGE TOUR
TOUR HIGHLIGHT
Chagga is one of the large tribes in Tanzania famous for being the first climbers of Mount Kilimanjaro and locally they are known for being aggressive successful business people.
One of the villages that is rich in the history of the Chagga people is Marangu village; hence, we will take you there to learn more abou the Chaggas, experience their way of life, food, drinks, dances, customs and traditions.
THE ITINERARY
This tour takes a full from 8AM to 5PM. After breakfast in Moshi, you will be picked up by Tupae Adventures driver ready for a 45 minutes drive from Moshi town to Marangu village. At Marangu village village, we will start by getting history of the chaggas and explore Chaggas famous Marangu underground caves.
After that we will head to Kinukamori waterfalls for an amazing experience of hiking and cooling off at the waterfalls. The waterfalls is at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and has crystal clear water.
During lunch time you will have time to eat local food and a local beer called Mbege. You will also learn how the Chaggas make coffee and you will have a cup of coffee made by you in a local way!
Before you leave Marangu village, you will explore a local market and the streets by foot in order to learn more the everyday way of life of the Chagga people.
ACTIVITIES DURING MARANGU CULTURAL VILLAGE
- Learn history , customs and traditions of the chagga people.
- Hike for about 20 minutes to Kinukamori waterfalls and enjoy the crystal clear water from the waterfall.
- Prepare coffee the local way and have a cup of coffee
- Have a local lunch
- Explore the streets and the local market
